Calligraphy is NOT cursive! It's the lesson I repeat to my students again and again.  Think of calligraphy as DRAWING, not handwriting. You want to DRAW IN each individual piece of each letter. I know, it sounds tedious, but the good news is that everyone can learn this, even if you have TERRIBLE handwriting.

But what use is this?

It's not like I'm going to write an envelope address in blunt pencil!!

This lesson is actually teaching you the basics of upstrokes and downstrokes - which is the FOUNDATION of calligraphy. Trust me, this knowledge will be SUPER helpful in the next lesson!
