“I clearly remember my mother arguing with my fourth grade teacher because I had gotten a B+.”

SUMMARY
If you’ve ever identified yourself as a perfectionist, whether you consider it a point of pride or something you want to change… you’re going to want to check out this episode.
Because you need to know the difference between
INSECURE PERFECTIONISM vs. INSPIRED PERFECTIONISM
I’ll be straight up with you right now — I am a recovering perfectionist…
I grew up with a family that expected me to get straight As (and preferably A+s) throughout my entire time in school.
Because I was so steeped in this environment of perfectionism, it followed me even into my career in corporate law. Being a perfectionist in corporate law wasn’t always the worst thing, but it can be very easy to let a focus on perfection derail your productivity or get in the way of living your best life… especially as a creative person.
There are two very different mindsets that people subscribe to when it comes to chasing perfection. One mindset allows perfectionism to be a constructive source of inspiration, but the other turns perfectionism into a destructive force.
It’s time for us to reframe how we look at perfectionism — and to figure out exactly how our perfectionism makes us FEEL. Your framework for perfectionism will have a big impact on how you feel about yourself and your work, so let’s get to work on healing your mindset!
It all starts right now!
